Safeguarding News

Dear Parents/Carers

As some parents may be aware from the article in the Derby Evening Telegraph, Schools in Chellaston have had contact from the local police warning them of a safeguarding situation.

There have been instances recently where a man has followed girls from the shopping areas of Chellaston. This has happened from the High Street area and near Tesco Local on Swarkestone Road.

The man is described as approximately six feet tall, wearing a camouflage jacket, dark trousers and black trainers. He is of Asian / Indian appearance.

Advice from the Police to parents and carers is to be aware if their children are going out and where they are going and for them to have a range of safe places and adults that children can go to if they feel concerned and to call us if they have any concerns about someone’s behaviour. The Police have increased their presence in Chellaston.

We would ask all students and parents to be vigilant when out and about in Chellaston and to report any suspicious behaviour to the Police.
