Welcome to Shelton’s Dinner Den
This is Mrs Freeman, Shelton’s head chef. She has worked in Shelton’s kitchen since 1984. That’s over 30 years! She started as a general kitchen assistant, then became an assistant to the previous head chef and now, as of this academic year, she is our new head chef.

Shelton’s Food Committee
Shelton has a school food committee. One child from each class was democratically voted by their own class and now attend meetings with Mrs Lorimer (who is in charge of the food committee), Mrs Freeman (the head chef) and Mrs Day (Shelton’s business manager). These meetings are held every half-term and they talk about all things food-related. They pass on information from their class council meetings and tell Mrs Freeman their ideas for the school menu and other ways of improving Shelton's Dinner Den.
This is a picture of them mid-meeting.
Their most recent idea was to introduce pepperoni topped pizzas. Mrs Freeman agreed that it would be a great idea and are now featured on the Shelton dinner menu.

As the sun is finally starting to shine, the children are enjoying time on the field. As well as this, children who are sandwiches can now eat in the picnic area. Below are some photos of children enjoying their packed lunches in the sun.
Queen’s birthday celebration
Recently the Queen turned 90 and to celebrate this occasion, Shelton had an afternoon tea with plenty of cakes. Below are lots of pictures of this lovely occasion including the huge table of cakes and treats.
